Winter 2024 - 2025 I stayed in Villanueva Mesia, a nice little town some 50kms west of Granada.
Although quite small it is 😁 internationally orientated.
The mainstreet welcomes you with many nice flowers. Just hold on there shortly to enjoy them !
At the Calle Buenavista a bee is searching for something to eat. They have a very difficult life, and more and more, due to changes caused by menkind. Who is not always very "kind".
Sunflowers are Shining at you and (so) you will Be Happy at an instance.
These purple flowers are also showing of.
At the end of october the yearly Real feira de Ganado came to town. The locals celebrate that by creating nice trailers with which they make a tour to the Edificio Polivalente, the event hall. They park there and create there own parties.
And a Feira is always nice to see, during daytime
and during nighttime !
The Parroquia de Nuestra Senora de la Aurora where
at jan, 19th the procession of San Sebastian Martir was held. He is the patron of Villanueva Mesia, that's why.
The church Parroquia Nuestra Senora de la Aurora was filled with people.
Not many hombres joined the singing, and so it sounded 😁 quite nice.
It took some time to get outside and get started, but all went well.
Special is that the statue is carried by women only.
But then it started and all went as planned, and as usual.
I had a good time at bar Andaluce, but only shortly. Suddenly I was instructed to leave immediately "because of the extensive raise in electricity used". The barowner even tried to unplug my laptop since he didn't allow me even five minutes to shutdown. My 12v laptop uses some 8 watts which is maybe 0.1% of what his bar uses. I have no idea what caused his very sudden, almost aggressive action but I do know the saying "penny wise, pound foolish", so I indeed left immediately.
So I went over to Bar Centro to see if I could spent my money there "and never left" haha.
And as long as I am in Spain I wonder who ever engineered doorknobs to be in the middle ??? That simply means that it takes double the amount of force to close and to open it. And it is not just about being at number 13. I do notice that all newly installed doors do have a clever setup : the knob (handle) is now located at the most outer position.

And views from the official viewpoint at the east of Villanueva Mesia, looking south. The mountains at the left, so at the far east, are close to Granada and east of that are some National Parcs. These mountains reach up to over 3000 meters so I will have to do thourough investigations to find tracks that I will be able to manage on my 67kgs OnTheRoad 4.0 🖱️ superbicycle.
